The Team

It was a difficult decision. I WANTED to go on the mission trip. And it was a very bad time to go. Like so many people, I have economic reasons for NOT going, logistical reasons for NOT going, and business reasons for NOT going. Who starts a new business and leaves it? Who leaves for two weeks during a move? Who leaves when the jobs are beginning to come in and the business is starting to grow?  I do. I CHOSE to go. I chose to be a part of a wonderful friendship team. Lesa, Missy, Mary and I have loved, laughed and cried together lots of times over the past several years during our service at God's Girls Ministry as board members. Our other current board member, Jan, will be holding down the fort and Karen will be coordinating the Bible studies while we are gone.

THE TEAM: 
      Lesa is one of the most faithful, courageous women I know. She was instrumental in my restoration. She watched me hide in plain sight for YEARS before she figured out that I was not as far along in my restoration process as I had lead her to believe. She called me out and helped me sit in front of Jesus where my healing lay. She supported me, loved me, stood by me, fought for me, corrected me, guided me and lead me. Over and over. We have known each other for over 30 years. I will work with Lesa until the day I die. Or she does. Which ever comes first. She IS older than me, after all.

     Mary is one of the most intelligent women I know. She would deny that, of course. But you cannot hide a rich and varied vocabulary. She is an avid reader and a descriptor of language. She sings it, writes it, photographs it and lives an articulate life inside and outside of The Box House, which is full of love, Jesus and laundry and kids and a beautiful calico cat named Paisley. Her husband is my husband's best friend. That makes Mary that much more special. Because she loves my husband and welcomes him over whenever he comes.

     Missy is one of the most peaceful, loving people I have ever met. And she is Strong; strong in faith, strong in loyalty, strong in grace, and strong in mercy. She is ten feet tall in spite of her calm demeanor. She is a healer and brings transformation with her. She is married to a star named James who leads worship at our church. She also has a really big dog. I mean REALLY, REALLY big. Sedona is a gentle giant. Just like Missy is. Missy and Mary are best friends and business partners. They are the best photographer team around. (MS2 Photography, in case you wondered.)
